Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a sucker for anything and everything #GirlPower! ♀💪🏾 I, like many kids, grew up watching anime on Toonami. Dragonball Z and Sailor Moon were huge hits and I enjoyed both shows despite each of them having a specific targeted audience.
As a kid, I had no problems with play-fighting my guy friends as we pretended to be Z Fighters punching, “flying”, and throwing each other about. 🤜🏾🤛🏾
At the same time, I had no problems arguing with my sister and friends about who could be which Sailor Scout. 🌙✨
I somehow was even able to convince my parents to get me a Sailor Mercury kite when I was a kid 👀. To this day, one of the most exciting Christmas gifts I’ve ever received was when my mom surprised me with limited edition sets of Sailor Moon S and SuperS. My very dramatic reaction was even captured on camera, but the footage has since been lost in the ether. 😅 All of this is to say that I was just very into the show and having those sets was the first exposure I had to the original Japanese version which only heightened my love for the series. (Yay sub!)
ムーン・クライシス。。。 メイク アップ !
Of all five seasons, Sailor Moon S and SuperS were the two seasons in particular that I really enjoyed. So when Sailor Moon Crystal was announced, it was a chance for fans all around the world to get excited about yet another rebooted series coming to light. But what’s interesting about Crystal is that it’s heavily following the storylines from the manga, where the original anime greatly deviated from. And once again, Season 3 of Crystal has been my favorite so far. So I’m sure you can imagine how excited I was, waiting for Season 4! However, much to a lot of peoples’ surprise, Season 4 was announced to be released in a new format. The newly titled, Sailor Moon Eternal will be a 2-part film that is currently set to be released in Japan on Friday January 8 and Thursday February 11 respectively.
Because I know nothing about the manga storylines, I’m very excited to see how the story plays out in Eternal. I’m sad that it’s a 2-part movie and not several episodes, but with a limited time, I’m sure the movies will turn out epically. Below you can find trailers of the film as well as a leaked scene. In the trailers, you can hear the new theme song, “Chainon”, sung by none other than Momoiro Clover Z.
P.S. The voice of Pegasus/Helios…🥰🙌🏾
Cannot wait for these movies! 😆⏳
