The original 90s Sailor Moon anime ran from 1992-1997 covering all 5 story arcs from the manga iteration albeit, with differences. Then, in 2014, Sailor Moon Crystal brought the return of Sailor Moon and her colorful planet power-wielding friends in a brand new anime series with the goal of delivering a series that was more faithful to the manga source material. Sailor Moon Crystal covered arcs 1 and 2. Sailor Moon Crystal Season 3 (my personal favorite), not only covered arc 3, but also graced audiences with an all new animation style that paid homage to the 90s anime style. Then the anime series took a turn with yet another animation style overhaul along with a new title in Sailor Moon Eternal. Eternal was a two-part film that covered the fourth arc of the manga. Which leads us to the fifth and final arc. The Crystal saga is officially ending with Sailor Moon Cosmos which will be another two-part film, featuring the same animation style as Eternal. Both films are set to release early summer 2023 (in theaters in Japan). All 5 seasons of the original Sailor Moon anime can be streamed on Hulu. Sailor Moon Crystal seasons 1-3 are streaming now on Hulu and Crunchyroll. The Sailor Moon Eternal films are available on Netflix. As for Sailor Moon Cosmos, check out the official trailer below! 🌙✨
